Moving Difficult "Mountains"

Jesus gives us this assurance in Mark 11:23 (Amplified):

Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him.

Clearly, ladies, that's also "her," "she," and "her." According to Jesus, when we do this, we can receive Godís power to move any "mountain" in our lives--any barrier to the perfect health of our bodies, minds, spirits, and relationships.

We do our part in the healing process by taking authority over any obstacle to the power of God--by talking to it and telling it to leave. Then we can receive Godís healing power in any area in which we have a need.

The weapons of our warfare

Sometimes, however, the "mountain" puts up surprising resistance, and turns out to be what the Apostle Paul calls a stronghold (2 Corinthians 10:3-4, Amplified):

For though we walk (live) in the flesh, we are not carrying on our warfare according to the flesh and using mere human weapons. For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds. . . .

Typically, a stronghold is a spiritual grip that the enemy and his demons can have on us--not only on our minds, bodies, and spirits, but even on our circumstances. The result is sin, physical sickness, mental torment, and often utter chaos in our lives.

How to attack

If ordinary praying doesn't change your situation, there's a good chance that a stronghold is in the background.

I'm no exception to the pattern; a good many times I've spent days and even months praying about a certain problem, and the thing doesn't change.

When I turn to the Holy Spirit to ask where the blockage is, however, He'll often tell me that a demonic force is present, and show me how to attack it. If it seems that your particular "mountain" is kept in place by a "stronghold," here are some pointers for getting it to move:
            Don't give up!

Don't give up. Don't quit praying because you think God isn't listening. Don't give up because you think the answer is impossible. Pray boldly (1 John 5:15).

Obey the directions that God gives, and make accurate prayers. If your problem seems to be with another human being, love the person, walk in forgiveness, come against the demon in the background, and pull down the stronghold, not the person.

Persist in praying what the Holy Spirit tells you to pray, and (again) donít give up.

Praise the Lord! Thank Him that he has broken the power of the devil over your situation, and keep on praising Him!

Don't forget that . . .

God should be our first resort, not our last resort. Start taking time right now to build up the faith you need to receive His healing.

God is ready to heal us in every way--spiritually, physically, emotionally, and mentally.

God heals all types of disease, pain, sorrow, and infirmity. Nothing is too hard for Him.

God wants us to be healed, to be "whole" persons enjoying abundant life.

God expects us to cooperate with Him in getting healed--through medicine, diet, exercise, and straight thinking. Everything that promotes healing is a gift from Him.
