MGHM Healing Brief, 6/10

The Benefits of Everyday Faith

Iíve often mentioned the sad spectacle of desperate Christians running from evangelist to evangelist in search of a "miracle." And Iíve tried to show how a few months of building the Word into their minds and spirits would have made their desperation unnecessary.

Thus, my focus in this ministry has been on healing disease through the power of the Word. In this monthís Brief, though, I want to go a bit beyond the usual emphasis and suggest how daily life in the Word will equip us to deal calmly with any evil, not just disease. It will transform our entire lives in ways that are seldom discussed "in church."
.

Surrounded by eternal blessing

Ephesians 2:6 (NKJV) assures us that God has "raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus." As citizens of heaven, weíre already surrounded by eternal blessing, radiating from the place where "the former things have passed away" and where Christ "makes all things new" (Revelation 21:4-5, NKJV).

Because we sit with Christ in heavenly places, He can make new our thoughts, our emotions, our relationships, finances, and families--along with our immune systems, our hearts, our lungs, and the rest of our equipment for life on earth.
.

                                  On earth as in heaven

This "newness" is exactly what we pray for when we ask God that His will may be done on earth as in heaven. We prepare ourselves to serve as faith-conductors for the power of heaven to earth, by steeping ourselves in the Word until our thoughts are Godís thoughts.

Then we go into action. We speak Godís Word with the confidence of mature faith, and God releases His power through our words. Thereís no need to limit ourselves to health issues. Weíre free to buy or sell houses by faith, choose spouses by faith, raise children by faith, go shopping by faith, deal with the boss in faith, do the laundry and cook breakfast in faith, sleep and get up in faith--all in the strength that God supplies.

Our daily confession can go something like this:
.

Covered by the blood of Jesus

According to Isaiah 61:9 I am the "blessed of the Lord." By Jesusí stripes, everything in my life is healed and made whole. My physical and mental health are solid. My relationships are healthy, too. Jesus is in charge of my finances through my tithing; if I lose my job, Jesus will give me a better one with more pay. If the devil is foolish enough to attack me or my family, he has already lost the battle.

Our whole household is covered by the blood of Jesus--our cars, our finances, our children, our dogs and cats and everything else. All our children are taught of the Lord, and great is their peace. No weapon formed against us shall prosper.

Add your own favorite Scriptures. Confess the healing Word daily and whenever else youíre inspired to do it. And donít wish for the results you seek. Expect them!

Don't forget that . . .

God should be our first resort, not our last resort. Start taking time right now to build up the faith you need to receive His healing.

God is ready to heal us in every wayóspiritually, physically, emotionally, and mentally.

God heals all types of disease, pain, sorrow, and infirmity. Nothing is too hard for Him.

God wants us to be healed, to be "whole" persons enjoying abundant life.

God expects us to cooperate with Him in getting healedóthrough medicine, diet, exercise, and straight thinking. Everything that promotes healing is a gift from Him.
