The Healing Has Already Been Done

Godís healing power is always flowing to us because of what Jesus Christ accomplished on the Cross 2,000 years ago. I Peter 2:24 ends with, "and by His wounds you have been healed." The healing has already been done for each of us.

However, we are not always in a position to receive this healing power flowing freely from our eternal God. Sometimes there are blocks to our receiving this healing in our minds, bodies and spirits.

                                    Two major blockages

There can be two major blockages to our healing. The first is that we donít really believe the healing Scriptures which God has put in His Word. We need to learn Scriptures such as Isaiah 53:5c which says, "Ö and with His wounds, we are healed." Another important healing Scripture for us to learn and believe is found in Matthew 8:17 which says, "He took our weaknesses and bore away our diseases."

Now if Godís Word says that Jesus took our weaknesses and bore away our diseases, then thatís a fact. Letís believe this Word and proceed with our healing prayers and receive the healing.

                                     Keep short accounts

A second major block to our receiving healing from God also has to do with us! Our own unconfessed sins can derail Godís healing power in an instant. For thirty years I have advised people to "keep short accounts with God."

By that I mean "confess your sins each and every day." Donít let the sin load pile up inside your spirit. Instead, confess and get rid of those sins. By confessing our sins, we put ourselves in a position to receive our healing.

Letís keep our inner lives washed clean before the Lord our God by confessing our sins and repenting of our sinful actions. Then we can receive all of Godís healing power by tapping into what God has already provided. Believe you receive what He has already sent to each of us--His healing.
"You took my sickness"

Pray this aloud several times a day:

I thank you, Lord Jesus, that you took my sins upon yourself on the Cross. I Peter 2:24. I thank you, Lord Jesus, that you took my sickness upon yourself on the Cross at the same time. By your suffering I am already healed. I thank and praise you for that. Amen and Amen.

Don't forget that . . .

God should be our first resort, not our last resort. Start taking time right now to build up the faith you need to receive His healing.

God is ready to heal us in every wayóspiritually, physically, emotionally, and mentally.

God heals all types of disease, pain, sorrow, and infirmity. Nothing is too hard for Him.

God wants us to be healed, to be "whole" persons enjoying abundant life.

God expects us to cooperate with Him in getting healedóthrough medicine, diet, exercise, and straight thinking. Everything that promotes healing is a gift from Him.
