When I first learned about healing, I had a tumor in one of my breasts. I dealt with it like this. I would say the healing scriptures (Isaiah 53:4) aloud and then go and sit down on my couch and wait for the miracle from heaven. I wanted God to zap me really good! So, I would sit and wait. Sit and wait. Sit and wait and nothing happened! I didn’t get my healing that way.
We all want to be zapped with a miracle when we’re sick and we expect it to come as a result of someone else’s faith. We think if we can just get into the right meeting and have so-and-so pray for us, we will be healed. Instead, God wants us to grow up in Him and in His word so that we can get healed by faith each time we need it in our lives.
I teach healing by faith in God’s word and the time to study and understand and learn how to do healing by faith is when you’re well. Don’t wait until you have a cancer destroying a part of your body. Learn how to do healing by faith in Jesus and in His word now so that when you need it, you’ll already know how to stop the attack.
I’ve put my books, “Simple Healing” and “God’s Word Brings Our Healing” into the hands of lots of people in the last two decades. These are both “how to” books on healing by faith. When people are really sick, then they really need books like these. Unfortunately, some of these people have never even opened or studied their books. Christians can have the answer to getting well right in their hands or at least in their homes and never read the book on how to do it.
On the other hand, I know a woman who told me she read “Simple Healing” at least fifty times. This may be an exaggeration, but she does know how to take God’s healing word and apply it to her own body and to the bodies of those around her. She even spoke God’s healing word to a couple of dying bushes in her front yard. The bushes recovered and are thriving there right now because she had the faith to bring them back to life again. You might think that talking to one’s bushes in your yard is a bit extreme, but it worked beautifully for this woman.
We’re told in Mark 16:15 to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Now her bushes had no faith in themselves to believe for restoration and healing, but she did.
Another person who has been involved in this ministry since 2001 had a sick oak tree in his back yard. He decided that instead of paying a tree company to cut it down, he would speak God’s life into it in the Name of Jesus. So, he did exactly that. He would walk around the tree and speak words of life into it. The tree responded and came back to life again. Today it’s still thriving in his yard. Remember, we are commanded to speak the gospel to all creation. If God will restore an oak tree and dying bushes in someone’s yard, think about how much more He will restore you and the people for whom you’re praying.
We all need to get proactive in seeking healing from God. We need to start believing in Jesus Messiah and in His power and willingness to heal. We also need to believe God’s word which tells us that “we have been healed.” I Peter 2:24b.
When Peter wrote the word “healed” in this verse, he used a Greek word, “iaomai,” which always refers to physical healing and never to spiritual healing or to inner healing. See “Bodily Healing and the Atonement” by Dr. T. J. McCrossan, page 62. Dr. McCrossan writes, “Remember that this word “healed” (iaomai) without one exception in the New Testament refers only and always to physical healing, never to spiritual healing.” Every Christian on earth can learn how to do healing by faith in order to get well. May I urge you now to study and memorize the healing scriptures today so that in the future you will use those healing words and be able to withstand the enemy’s attacks against you.
